Bamboo

Updated: Sep 16, 2019

Bamboo is one of the most eco friendly and sustainable materials in the world.

Ready to harvest in just 3-5 years, with the ability to regrow up to 1m per day, making deforestation unnecessary.

During maturation it requires less water than regular trees.

It has naturally occurring antimicrobial agents that means need for pesticides or fertilisers during cultivation. This reduces the harm to the ground and surrounding areas from harmful toxins.

It can also be grown all over the world, as it has many different strains that can adapt to all sorts of climate, this helps to reduce pollution caused by transportation and allows more people easy access to crops.

Moso bamboo is also panda friendly as it is not consumed by pandas for food or used in their habitats

“Stronger than steel, softer than cotton, smoother than silk”

Bamboo is super versatile. It’s durable, affordable and antibacterial, making it perfect for clothing, shoes, furniture, etc.

It is stronger than wood and rivals steel, making it perfect for construction, like scaffolding.

After all that, in the end bamboo decomposes into nutrient soils, remaining valuable to the earth.

This all makes it a perfectly sustainable material and replacement for plastic items.
